| Multisus 2 SoftwareFor Bartington MS2 Magnetic Susceptibility System |
The latest version of the Multisus Windows based program, which provides a general purpose facility for magnetic susceptibility measurements in the laboratory, is now available.
The Multisus program uses the familiar Windows interface to record the magnetic susceptibility of individual samples or drill cores when measured with the MS2B, MS2C, or MS2E sensor. The program allows automatic correction of results for drift, sample volume, sample mass, container mass, container susceptibility or the core/sensor diameter ratio as appropriate. The frequency dependence of susceptibility is automatically calculated when the MS2B dual frequency facility is used.
The program allows the results from a batch of individual samples or from a core to be saved as a file. For single samples the results can be volume or mass specific and provision is made for automatic increments of depth for core measurements. The program is supplied for operation under either Windows 3.1 or Windows 95/NT.
The latest version is expanded to include the new MS2G sensor for small powder or liquid samples, with automatic correction for sample volumes down to 2m1. The algorithm for normalising the results from the MS2C core logging sensor with varying core to sensor diameters has been updated.
The program has been extended to simplify the air/sample/air measurement sequence used with the MS2B and MS2G sensors for weak samples and includes short-cut function key operations. The user now has the option to confirm acceptance of each value. Multiple measurements of a sample produce a running average and standard deviation The user selects the point at which the value is to be accepted into The data.
